Background
Founded in 1979, The McGrath Group was based in Dublin for over 25 years, moving to Maynooth, Co. Kildare in late 2004.
Initially, we were involved in the development and letting of residential properties in Dublin’s inner city. Dublin in the mid ‘80’s suffered from serious dereliction and the McGrath Group was one of the earliest participants in Urban Renewal. Our development of Kinlay House for Usit in 1986 was one of the first large scale Urban Rejuvenation Projects. The mixed use Parliament Buildings was one of the earliest projects in the now thriving Temple Bar, with the first restaurant opening in 1990.
The Irish portfolio was diversified into retail and commercial as well as development sectors during the ‘90’s and ‘00’s, and we were ideally placed to benefit from the extraordinary growth in the Irish Property Market. In the mid ‘90’s we opened a division in the UK and have used our experience to build sound investment and development arms there. We have recently expanded into Mainland Europe with operations currently in Hungary, Poland and Germany and we are continually evaluating other European Property markets.
